As spring school sports come to a close, it starts to limit the opportunity that one's cheerleading groups have to sell to supporters. Many cheerleading groups like to sell fundraising items to supporters at sporting events to raise money for their uniforms, competition fees, travel expenses, and cheer camps. With the school sport activities now ending, it is time to look for new avenues to get in front of supporters.
Some cheerleading groups may choose to host a car wash or even a cheer workshop. These fundraising methods will generate cheerleading groups 100% profit, unless of course one needs to pay for the lot where they will wash the cars or the location where they will host the workshop. One may generally find a free lot for the car wash by checking with local grocery stores or gas stations and a school may offer the use of a gymnasium for a cheer workshop.
Other fundraising methods for summer cheerleading programs include donation programs, selling fundraising products, and taking orders for product using brochures.
Cheerleading scratch cards provide an excellent asset for cheer groups seeking donations. They are a fun way for requesting donations from supporters and will raise up to 90% profit! Each scratch card is themed for cheerleading and has the group's name printed on the card. Group members will ask a supporter to scratch off two or more dots on the scratch cards and then donate the amount shown. The supporter will then receive a coupon sheet valued at $150 as a "Thank You".
Some cheer groups prefer to sell fundraising products to raise money for their summer cheerleading programs. While bake sales are quite popular and generate great profit, they require work up front including scheduling who will bake what, baking the items, and then running the sale. Other cheerleading groups prefer pre-made direct sale fundraising items such as smencils, candy bars, or custom fundraising products like wristbands.
Brochure sales work great for larger groups as these items generate more profit per item sold. This means less items need to be sold to reach one’s fundraising goal.
