Elementary Schools around Gallatin Valley in Montana participated in the 2009 From Farms to Schools Fundraising Program. This program helps the school’s fundraise, as well as supports local farmers, by selling produce generated by the farms ranging from squash to corn.
The fundraising program this year generated $37,700 in sales, 40% of which goes to the schools. The sixth graders from Gallatin Gateway School will be using the funds for their trip to Yellow Stone State Park, and the eight graders will be using the funds for their Washington D.C. field trip.
